Mogadishu (HOL) – Police in Mogadishu have arrested three women who filmed themselves torturing a man they had invited into a house in the Waberi district this week.
The police reported on Monday that one of the three women, who was in a relationship with the victim, arranged for the other two to inflict harm on the unidentified man. The video they shared on social media has generated outrage among users.
A statement from the Police Command of the General Division of Banadir region said, “The police forces at the Wadari Police Station arrested the women for torturing a Somali citizen. The police investigation is ongoing, and they will be brought before the competent court.”
However, incidents of this nature have been on the rise in society recently, with the most recent occurring in Kismayo a few months ago.
