Nairobi (HOL) – A businessman and Madrassa teacher was abducted by armed men in Eastleigh. The abduction took place just before midnight in a busy street, with the gunmen using a white double-cabin vehicle to take the 40-year-old Somali refugee forcibly. The kidnapping was caught on CCTV.

The victim’s family, who last saw him attending morning prayers at 5:30 am on November 14, expressed deep distress and frustration with the lack of progress in the police investigation. Despite filing a report with local police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), there has been no significant advancement in the case.

The incident raises concerns about the frequency of abductions in Kenya and the alleged involvement of law enforcement in such cases. Human rights groups, including Amnesty International, have previously accused Kenyan police of extrajudicial tactics, particularly against Muslim clerics.

This latest abduction follows a series of similar incidents in Kenya, including the kidnappings of billionaire Jaswant Rai and businesswoman Ann Njeri Njoroge. The family of the abducted businessman urges the authorities to intensify their efforts and is seeking public assistance in locating their missing relative. The case highlights the broader issue of public safety and the effectiveness of law enforcement in addressing such crimes.
