Hargeisa (HOL) – The Somaliland Intelligence Agency (NIA) said Friday that it had seized medical equipment and car tires destined for the SSC-Khatumo administration in Las Anod town.
“The NIA, the highest security agency in Somaliland, which has been closely monitoring the recent activities in the Sool region, has seized 200 tires, predominantly from military vehicles,” a statement from the Agency said.
The statement added that, with the assistance of security forces, the intelligence agency dismantled a network involved in delivering medical services, including first aid kits, to the city of Las Anod.
The conflict between SSC-Khatumo forces and the Somaliland army reignited last week after nearly two months of calm in the Sool region. The recent fighting in Buqdharkayn and Yayle on Wednesday resulted in casualties on both sides.
Additionally, the SSC-Khatumo administration reportedly displayed seven prisoners captured during Wednesday’s fighting between the Somaliland army and SSC-Khatumo forces in the Sool region.
