Beledweyne (HOL) – At least one person was killed, and three others were wounded in a landmine explosion that occurred in a small tea shop in the Halgan district of the Hiiraan region on Friday.
Local sources report that security officials and local authorities frequent the small, famous shop. However, it remains unclear whether the blast resulted in casualties among them.
While no group has claimed responsibility, al-Shabab militants typically carry out such attacks at hotels and restaurants across various parts of the country.
Somalia has been plagued by insecurity for years, with the main threats emanating from al-Shabaab and the Daesh/ISIS terror groups.
